The hatchback version of the much-beloved Honda Civic has long been popular in Europe and will be making its way to the United States for the first time ever! The 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback will combine a striking and Euro-inspired design with five-door versatility, world-class driving dynamics, and the Honda brand’s direct-injected turbo engine technology that has made all Honda Civic models so popular. Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division of American Honda Co., Inc., had this to say about the all-new Honda Civic Hatchback:
“The Civic Hatch has been a staple for Honda in Europe, but has long been the forbidden fruit for Honda fans in the U.S. Now we’re bringing this sporty, stylish and versatile Civic Hatchback to North America, as we amp up the performance of our incredible Civic lineup with each new Civic model. “
It will be offered in five trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Sport Touring, and it will be equipped with a 1.5-liter DOHC direct-injected turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that generates 175 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque with the CVT and 175 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque with the six-speed manual transmission. It will feature all the latest in interior utility and premium features including the Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assistance features such as a collision mitigation braking system, forward collision warning, lane keeping assist, and more.
