2020 Honda CR-V vs Honda CR-V Hybrid near Hampstead, MD

1100 × 770
The Honda CR-V is a staple in the compact SUV segment. As a consequence, it’s often compared to other models in the same category. This has become so commonplace, in fact, that the Honda CR-V is even compared to itself. With the new model year, buyers now have a choice between the 2020 Honda CR-V and 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid.

Safety Technology

There are some basic similarities. For one thing, both come with the Honda Sensing® as standard. This is the brand’s suite of safety features that include a number of driver-assistive technologies, such as collision mitigation braking and road departure warning.

Engine Specs

The hybrid version, of course, is going to have a different engine compared to its non-hybrid counterpart. The latter is powered by a 1.5-liter turbo-four engine that delivers 190 hp and 179 lb-ft of torque. This is a boost from the previous natural aspirated 2.4-liter engine that produces 183 hp. By contrast, the Honda CR-V Hybrid has a powertrain comprising a 2.0-liter Atkinson four-cylinder engine mated to an electric motor. The output is 212 hp and 238 lb-ft of torque.

In addition, both versions come with the option to upgrade to all-wheel-drive. Unlike most hybrid all-wheel-drive vehicles, this one utilizes a driveshaft connected to the rear wheel, as opposed to having a third motor. The Honda Accord utilizes the same engine configuration for its own hybrid variant.
